Impulse buy. Just couldn't resist.
Really had no business doing this with all the other stuff on my wish list but at $119 +tax +150 miles of driving I just couldn't resist the old gal. Particularly since I've seen the same GB seller list it perhaps a half-dozen times at $149 and couldn't talk myself into it then.
It'll be Saturday before I can get down to pick it up though.
I don't own anything .32 so now I have to get dies, a micro disk for my Lee Auto Disk and a boolit mold.
Is current off the shelf lead safe to shoot in it in order to get brass?
My SCSW puts it in the 1910 to 1917 range.

I'm pretty sure the current .32 Long is loaded very mild in fovor of these old guns. I have several and have shot nearly all of them.

I don't think I'd have resisted that impulse either. Nice score.
I shoot S&B wadcutter ammo in my old .32s. I think Fiocchi makes it too.

Welcome to the club, nice snag! Very happy with mine as shooters. Before your reloading equipment comes in, a company
that's accessed by typing in AMMO TO GO has a bunch of ammo
in stock. TACC1

shoot her
I've had no problems shooting mine with modern, factory .32 long ammo. It's loaded pretty light. I'd be careful with handloads unless you are confident in loading them yourself. Nice little gun; I paid $150 for mine last year.

Oh I'm fine with reloading. Have been pulling press handles since 1992.
I definitely see it as a shooter. I don't buy guns I don't shoot.
This is my first I frame but not my first 5 screw.

Modern 32 wadcutters will shoot fine in that. I have some once-shot 32 fiocchi long brass that I can sell/trade, if you are interested.

I shoot Fiocchi wadcutters in my Grandfather's .32 Regulation Police, which was shipped in 1924. I get 'em from The Sportsman's Guide at about $14 per box of 50.

Looks like a super buy to me! Any more, driving 150 miles for a good gun deal is becoming more the expectation rather than the exception, I fear. As for loads, I shoot a similar vintage RP with a mild little combination of a 100 gr SWC in front of 1.9 gr of Bullseye and Federal standard SP primers in randomly mixed brass. I figure I'll be worn out completely before the gun is! As for off the shelf ammo, I can only speak with experience about the Remington stuff. It's loaded very mild indeed, in deference to the old pocket .32s from a variety of questionable sources that one still finds floating around out there. Congratulations on a great find. Enjoy!

So has anyone had one lettered with a serial close to 1614xx who can help narrow down the ship date a bit?

Nice find.
Few weeks ago I bought one that looks quite similar to yours:
My first .32 HE Model of 1903
I also bought a Lee die set for this caliber. I frames are fun to shoot!
Congratulations on your purchase.
ND.
