Default 1950's S&W K22 master piece 22lr

I know these aren't so cheap anymore and the one i got with the orginal box, S&W screw driver and the S&W cleaning rod with the brush on it along with an excellent++like new hardley seen the light of day K22 master piece was very hard not to pass up but i tried to fight it but i had to have it. No buyers remorse here but i'm very very happy i grabbed it. She is an older 6 shot revolver. It looks so good i hate to take it out and shoot it now. Bill

I'm a little late in asking this but what are these worth in like new condition with the orginal box, screw driver and bore brush?

It is worth what you paid for it.
As 03Fatboy stated - we'd love to see some pictures.

Sight unseen $750. If it shows as nice as you describe. More if it's an early (low serial number) gun. Need photos bad.

Everybody should have at least one K-22, sounds like yours is really nice. By the way, did anyone mention that we need to see PICTURES???

You say, "1950's." I take it that means it has a four line address?
Sounds like you got a nice one. The period SAT is worth a bit all by itself. Are you going to keep us in suspense, or will you tell us what you had to give for it?
And at the risk of sounding like an echo, where the heck are the pictures???

The bluing is 99.999% it looks like new, the revolver is still tight and the bore looks like it hasn't been shot that much. It has the orginal box with screw driver and cleaning rod w/brush on it, its all S&W orginal stuff. I paid $895 for it. I been going thru them for a while and seen many for well over $1,000+++ and they looked tht same as this one. Since i purchased two new S&W M57 & M58 in 41mag in nickel i want to collect and shoot more S&W's. I know i'm going to have to coff up the cash if i want something thats in great condition. I figure being a 1950's S&W k22 in 22lr and its 6 shots w/6'' barrel its got it all plus the box, screw driver and cleaning rod w/brush. Sometimes i feel its only paper money and look what i got for it... Being retired i need to shop smart too. I don't pay this much for any gun but this one i had to have. When my family members went to the range for there NRA shoot for there CCW license my wife and two sons loved to shoot the 22's. I have a few but no really nice revolvers to shoot. Now dad got them for them to shoot and me too. Bill

BTW; Its hard to know whaqt some of this stuff is really worth. At the guns for sale sights the prices do vary between cheap/affordable to way over priced. We never know were the prices can go too i've seen them go up like overnight sometimes.
Example; I purchased a brazilian 98 mauser in 7mm with the muzzle cap and bayonet for $150 and a week later these were at $450. Then i purchased $650 for a unissued russian svt-40 tokarev and a few years later there $1,000 and higher depending on the condition. I've seen this with brand new guns too and used guns. All of a sudden the cost soars.

Without pictures, it's hard to tell, but from your description you paid a very appropriate price, not a steal, but well worth what you paid. You should be happy.

With gun auction sites, you can't go by asking price. Lots of people put the item on with a price of what they would like to get. Most of the time these auctions will continually "roll over" until either the gun goes up enough in value someone eventually buy's it, or the seller gives up and pulls it and takes the item to gun shows to try & sell. Go to the auction site, and sign in and go to the "Completed auctions". Then search for what you are interested in and see what like items sold for. You will find many of the same item being re-listed time after time, and a similar item with no reserve (or high starting price) actually selling and what it sold for.

Last week I got the twin to your K22. On Guns America near the last page of S&W's. A nice, used gently, 100% matching 1952 vintage K38 heavy bbl. I had to take a chance at $490 with a 3 day inspection. These old Smiths are real pretty, even used ones are pretty. I cannot wait to shoot the old girl. Big Larry

been checking prices on these [$600-$1000]; guess i made a good investment. 20 yrs ago picked up a mint 4" version with target trigger, wide hammer and a nice set of original grips for $265. it's a keeper!

Default K-22

You did good. Around here they are at least as much as you paid, and higher. Most look like they've been 'around the block', way too many times for the price.

You did fine,
The definition of a good deal is one where both partys are happy.

Anytime I need a nudge into buying a nice clean old K22 I remember that the new copy with internal lock costs $1100 bucks and isnt nearly as nice as the old ones.
Besides..
Cash is worthless in itself...its the stuff it buys that gives it value.
Enjoy your new K22 !

Here's mine I paid $71 for in 1949. Original stuff still in the box including grips. It's had about 500 rounds thru it.

Wow! A one-owner model with low mileage! I love the note on the box. Did you write that note to yourself when you bought it, rhmc24, or at some later time?
