Hey guys just traded for a .38 special Victory Model the serial # is V559939. Its not US Navy marked it doesn't have a US Property mark either. All it has is the "P" and a flaming bomb by the V.

Without pics it didn't really happen!
BUT, it sounds like it might be a guard gun. Built at the same time, it just didn't go to war!

Hey! A Victory that hasn't been butchered, pimped or both! Very nice.

CSM:
There are a lot of Victory fans on this Forum, me included, so we always enjoy seeing another nice condition example. Congrats on your find.
Your revolver is likely a gun that was shipped under DSC authorization. Are there also P-proofs on the cylinder face and the barrel flat?

Ordnanceguy,
There ar P proofs on the cylinder face and on the barrel flat. And all the serial numbers match too.

When I have $50 to spare I plan on requesting that info from Roy.

Just because a gun doesn't have US Navy markings doesn't mean it didn't see military use. I'm almost sure that not all of the Victory Models I saw in the USAF before there were enough M-15's to replace them had Navy markings. We got a lot of Victories from the swabs, but some may have come from other sources. Still, I wouldn't bat an eye if told that the Navy used some guns without Navy markings.

TS, you are correct on this, I have a couple of lettered Navy guns that have no Navy markings. I suspect that there are a lot more Navy guns that are unmarked than marked ones.
