Post Pre 27 3 1/2" nickle v. Early 27 3 1/2" nickle

I have a hankering for a M 27 or pre M 27 3 1/2" revolver in nickle finish. For those of you that have these guns, what is that real difference, other than price?

Pre, 27, 27-1 and 27-2 incorporated minor engineering changes that don't really make a lot of difference as far as shooting goes. If you want a gun to have and to shoot any version will make you happy.

Of course older is more desirable to collectors and the prices for comparable guns will reflect this fact.

This is a July 1950 pre-27 that is about as nice as you'll find in any model variation.

Well Keith,

If I can just find me one almost as good as yours, I will attempt to get on your waiting list to make me one of your fantastic rigs to carry it in.

The difference would be the pre 27 has an ejector rod that threads in clockwise, diamond grips, 5 screws, a 6 groove backstrap and a blue front site blade.
the 27-2 (post 1967) has non diamond grips, an ejector rod that is counterclockwise threaded, it is a 3 screw gun and has a 10 groove backstrap with a nickel front site blade.
