Great pics.............but I want to see more of the holster as well. I love vintage leather almost as much as vintage firearms.
You have a very nice S&W there as well.

Great looking rig, Bill, hard to beat a K frame masterpiece and beautiful leather. Here is my 5 screw K-32 with it's Colorado Saddelry holster.

That is a really nice setup. I believe that Colorado Saddlery was a part of Heiser out of Denver in the waning years of Heiser. I don't have a K 32 but I NEED one badly. Have a whole bunch of older holsters that need fulfillment. Heiser not only made the Colorados but also Abercombrie & Fitch for a while also.
regards
Bill

The story I heard was that the Heiser family sold the company in 1945, and that four of their employees left and started Colorado Saddelry. I've also been told that Colorado Saddelry typically carved their safety straps and loops, while Heiser usually did not.

I think we both are right to some degree. If memory serves me correctly, and it is questionable at best these days, Heiser actually had their mark, in addition to the mark of Abercrombie and Fitch in the waning days of the "House of Heiser." I have several Heiser/S.D. Myres, and others from years gone by. Have a couple of the original catalogs for Heiser and Myres also. I am about as addicited to holster collecting as I am guns. Whatever the history is, Heiser in my opinion was tops in this time.
Regards
Bill

I don't have any first hand knowledge, the information I have is from forum member turnerriver, who also has quite a collection of vintage gunleather. And although I have many more guns than holsters at this point, I'm starting to develop a real interest in the leather. There's some beautiful examples out there.

I have this exact same holster for my K-38 and 6 inch Model 10. It came free with the Model 10. I love it.
