K22 and K38 values please, please
I have an opportunity to pick up two nice K- Guns @ LGS
K-22, 6" blu-matching stocks- 99% minus a small turn line and 5mm round blemish under trigger guard. standard hammer, trigger w/ patridge front sight- no box- S# K480--.
K-38, 6" blu- no matching stocks- 99.5+ w/ target hammer, standard trigger- patridge front sight- no box- S#K178147
Both look to have low round count=
What are these worth in the real world?
K guns are new to me- Any/ all comments welcome--
Also- what's a 99% M15-4 2" w/ rubber grips- no box worth?
Thanks
Mike E

I'll start, though others here are more expert in valuations..
The K38 would be a 1952 gun.The K22 is earlier. Both probably from the same estate.
I'll guesstimate 550 for the K38,650 for the K22.The degree of blemish on the K22 would be an important factor.
Being in Kali may affect value too.

Camster's suggested prices feel about right to me, but maybe I'd be willing to go a little more on the K-38.
The K-22 would be a 1948 gun, probably toward the end of the year.

Finding these two guns in high condition is the hard part. If the price seems reasonable to you, you might want to buy 'em sooner rather than later. Many folks have their eyes peeled for these models. They are both great shooting guns...extremely well made and they both weigh the same, or close to it.

I went a little light on the K38 because of the grips, thinking they might be recent non diamond grips. If they are the proper type, just misnumbered,I could see a higher value.

Here in CA if you can get the K22 for less than $650, you are doing good.
The K38's turn up more often but its hard to find a pristine one, usually I see them go for $450-$550
I swung by Kerly's today, they had a real nice Pre War M&P for $850, an S-prefix 27-2 6" for $1,250 and a 4" 29-3 also for $1,250 but their prices are always kind of high, yet they sell stuff

I traded away a model 14-3 or 4 several years ago for a mint Colt police positive special with box 1970 vintage. The S&W was an ex police qualifiying/range piece lots of wear but a great shooter. I love those older Smiths but the Colt is much tighter and a smoother action. I do miss the adj. sights of the Smith. NEVER would trade away a K-22 or any Colt DA reviolver in .22

The prices mentioned above are right in there. Private sale with no tax/shipping or FFL transfer fees are to be considered. If you had to choose only one go with the .22. I would every time.

I picked up a 17-4 with paperwork, box and tools 6 months ago for $650 and it looks unfired. I also picked up a mint 14-3 for $400. Both of these are later guns then the ones you are looking at and I think the prices qouted you are about right on.
I'd also opt for the k22 if I could only buy one of them.
