I would have jumped on that one for $1500 even it isn't an original!! Although the barrel rollmarks do look right. I think I'll look for the seller's other auctions from now on!

The original listing was a $900 start with reserve .... typical. Then as if by magic it was buy it now and sold .... right now. Funny how that happens. Same thing on E-barf, 50% of the "good" stuff either gets pulled before auction end or changed to "buy it now" while the real prearranged via email buyer is waiting to hit the button. The gun looks original to me, lots of 4" guns in that 118XXX range. The stocks are worth probably $500 alone.

The fact that it was very rear and a five crew with those cheap plain walnut grips....
All I can say is geez! Holy cow, I would have liked to have had that! Although, is that red insert front sight original? That's about a 1953-1954 gun just looking at the SN.

The red ramp is original. Many of those 4" guns came in bright blue with the left side small logo, red ramp, and smooth rosewood stocks just like that one. I have an exact twin that letters, at least 2 others I remember on this forum have, or had that exact configuration also. Maybe one will post a picture. Lost all my saved pictures in a drive crash recently. Should have made a bid on that one, usually don't bother with the fishing expedition reserve auctions. Pictures were bad but it looked pretty nice for roughly 1/3 true value.

Yep! I would say that was a 3,500.00 pre 24.
