Employee Sales 44 Magnum
S130802, shipped to Camfour, Inc., in Springfield, MA on January 4, 1957. The invoice lists this 44 as being sold to an S&W employee. Camfour handled these sales for S&W.

That truly is a birthday gun. It was shipped on my 5th birthday. Wish my daddy had bought that for me!

As usual that is a nice gun. You have some beautiful guns. I have a model 28 sent to Camfour also. Its ser no is S250,0XX and it names the S&W employee. I was told the name was a code for Camfour that the gun was for an employee and can't find out whom the gun was sold to. Is the first name Dave on you're letter? I tried calling Camfour to find out and e-mailed the girl that helps Roy with the shipping info also. Nothing. Do you know how to find out who received my gun? Larry

Larry...I doubt if it is possible to find out who received the two revolvers. The 44 letters to Camfour and does not name an employee.

Very nice Bill and a prime example how numbers are all over the place. One would have expected that one to have shipped in 56.

Thanks Bill. My gun went to S&W employee Dave Baker. When I called Camfour and told them I'd pay them to look it up for me, they didn't want to. I'd give them the month & year and all they would have to do is check they're log book for that era. Not sure if they had to sign guns out in 1964. I'm surprised the even ser. no. that mine is was made into a model 28. Larry
