I have the chance to buy a S&W .38 Military & Police (model of 1905 4th change) Pre Model 10 with a 5" barrel and manufactured between 1915-1942. Serial # is 9122xx. On the top of the barrel it says Smith & Wesson and has this:

Cylinder and bore are super tight and just as clean as a brand new gun of today. The look like Coke Bottle grips from the side with the diamond around the screw and the checkering going really low (about 3/16-1/4" from bottom of grips) and look like new. I'd say it's easily 90%+. Any info greatly appreciated.

The term "Pre-10" is generally reserved for guns made post-WWII but before the Model designations. What you are describing is a .38 M&P, and for a 90% gun I would value it at around $300 sight-unseen. It could be slightly higher given exceptional condition or box and papers, none of which you mention.

That revolver probably shipped in early 1942. You also don't say if it's chambered for .38 S&W or .38 Special, which will significantly affect the value. Also, are the stocks you're describing of the service or magna type?

Humm, sounds like you are fishing, if in fact they are 'Coke' grips, they could double the value (not the gun)! Added value would be if they are 'Magna' grips numbered to the revolver! 5" I'd give it a point or two. Still, $300-$350 <> depending on your location is not unreasonable.
