Hey Guys....it took approximately a month ....but my S&W Letter came today in regards to my question regarding the Victory Model .38 Special I was lucky to find about two months ago......According to the letter....It was shipped from the S&W Factory on January 14,1943 to the "Cactus Ordnance Works, Etters Texas.........It was a Defense Supply Corporation sale and so was shipped without U.S. Or Military markings......I did a search on the "Cactus Ordinance Works"..it was started in 1942 and made ammonium for shells......and from literally nothing...the Government built a fairly large Military Base there....housing..schools...office buildings...Recreation areas......and it lasted for around two years when it was shut down....So it looks as if my Victory .38 was issued for possible issue to a Government Guard at the plant.....altho from the condition.....I dont think it was ever issued.....The letter states it was shipped with a 4 inch barrel...Military Midnight Black Finish..Butt Swivel and smooth walnut grips..........so it never made it to the Pacific.....but I think its interesting where it did wind up..........I appreciate everyones help and advice on getting this info.......Regards......Hans Fischer
