Here's my 1952. It'll be 60 on Jan. 8. It's really dark high polish blue, but it almost looks like nickel in this light.

There's a few Pre-27's mixed in there with 27 No Dash and 27-1 guns...

I'd take some better close ups, but I don't want to give Sal a stroke.

TheCount--whatever you can talk 'em down to

Donnie--it's your's do what you want, but know you'll play a devil of a time getting the paint off. And if you decide to sell in the future, it may impact your ability to get what you want out of it.

I have used Testor's fluorescent red model paint on some of my guns for years. It helps.

Not hard to remove if you change your mind.

I've read on the net that a white undercoat before the red coat improves visibility.

Here's a Pre-27 if you would call it that, being a First year Registered Magnum that had it's 66th Birhday This Month being December 13. I spoke with the owner's grandson who is now in his late 70's Charles Bowen III and learned a lot of history on this .357 Magnum. It shipped to The Bowen Brother's Hardware company of Augusta, Georgia Attention owner Charles Bowen with one box of Complimentary .357 Magnum ammo sighted in dead hold at 25 Yards. It was ordered with the shortest barrel offered being the 3-1/2" Patridge front sight blade, Bright blue with Magna stocks. MR Bowen & His store had a long running relationship with S&W as they gave him a special reduced price of $39.00 shipped for this gun & he bought it to accompany him in his automobile for rides in the country. Also shown is the Man that Ordered it being MR. Charles Bowen with his son Dudley at the loading dock of their store Sporting goods store where it shipped into.

This Pre-27 shipped in July 1955 and is shown in Factory Nickel with the Three T's Option

That photo makes me think of the game show Jeopardy. With that in mind, "I'll take row two for a $1,000".

All the rest of you - Thanks for sharing your beautiful guns.

Default Caught & Released

No longer mine, but about the nicest 3.5" that's spent time in my gun safe, with a matching numbered 8-3/4" barrel.

Michael:

I know where that one is... it is setting comfortably in my safe (thanks for letting it go). It is the nicest 3.5" RM in my collection. In the chain of ownership, the box was separated and eventually lost (I understand that there is quite a story about the loss of the box...)

Michael:

You may recognize that the nickel gun I posted above was one that you "released" to me a few years ago!

These are great 357s. I there
are not alot of 5 and 6 inch barrels. Are the 3 and 3 1/2 " more common or more desirable or both?
