Default Snub K Frame question. ?????

Hey gang,
Picked up a pre-10 snub this weekend but it has me a little confused. No mod number on frame. S/N on the frame and diamond magna grips match. No s/n on underside of barrel or on cylinder.
S/N is C 412XXX which the S/N by year list says is 1958-59. For a gun in this time frame, shouldn't it have been marked as a model 10? Will post pics later.
Larry

If that number came from the bottom of the butt and was preceded by a C it would date to 1959. It should indeed be marked Mod-10 or Mod-10-1.

I don't think anythings wrong with your sn. not being a model marked gun. I have C432xxx, not mod marked 4 screw gun.

I have a Model 19 the serial number dates to around 1968-69 that is not model marked. It is either a -2 or a -3.

Sometimes the factory stamped the wrong model numbers on guns as well.
