Default Another .32 Question and ID please

I recently got the S&W (trying for pic) and need to get a set of grips for it. I believe it has been reblued, but is in very fine condition. The serial number is 3210xx. Single line SMITH & WESSON on the left side of the barrel and .32 LONG CTG on the right. Round butt, no step grip frame and 6" barrel. Will this have the "hardened" cylinder I've heard about? What is it and where can I get grips? I'll keep trying for the photo upload.

Yes, it should have the heat treated cylinder and should be safe (have a gunsmith verify, I can't do it from here!) to shoot with modern factory level loads. Grips may be a bit of a challenge, though, but only if you want/demand originals. There is an outfit in NC that makes fairly nice replicas of the hard rubber grips, and you still see a fair number of the aftermarket grips made by Jay Scott, Mustang, Franzite, and Fitz (that's my order of preference) for it at gun shows and on Internet auction sites, since they made about a half million of those guns. I found a set of finger groove Mustang grips that completely encloses the grip frame so that even though they were intended for the J-frame they work fine. I used them on my 6" Bekeart with badly worn grips.

You are describing what is termed an I Frame S&W. You can try Gunbroker, ebay, and other gun sites and search for I Frame round butt grips. They came both in wood diamond and blask hard rubber grips.

Vintage Gun Grips has a website and provides decent replica grips for may makes and models of revolvers. For under $30 total, you can get the repros and start shooting. Over time you will probably run across a set of originals.
