Combat Magnums (Pre-19)
I pulled these out tonight and thought about taking a few quick picks:
-Blue: July, 1956 (unfired/NIB)
-Factory Nickel: December 28th, 1956

Very Nice Pair !
I saw a nickel dash 2 at the gunshow last weekend with a blue FS,
Unfortunately it was in VERY poor condition .
Doesnt surprise me as a good many of the early ones were sentenced to 20 + years of hard labour and holster carry in all kinds of weather .

Great guns!
I'm always on the lookout for a nickeled Combat Magnum, but they're very few and far between.

4 screw, you are some kind of guy. Looking for the elusive pre M19 Combat Magnum, I found one very close so I bought it. It is N.I.B M19-0 shipped to Williams Gun sight Co.2-1960. # K358063, no XXX's.That serial number is lower than my M48 # K 368119, also no XXX's, that was shipped 7-1959. You know I will find one. "4 screw, you are some kind of guy."
I know you will find one...As you know, it takes years sometimes and that is the fun of collecting. I bought the Blue CM in 1994, and I think I paid $400, which was a lot at that time. I purchased the nickel one about a year ago from a S&WCA member and close friend. Thanks BL.

I would have to look Drew....I never paid much attention.
Doc has the first CM and he also has a May '56 gun in a black presentation case, like the .44 Magnum presentation case.

I have CM # K260863, high condition with Target Hammer and Diamond Target stocks, not serial numbered. I think it's a first year gun.

Sorry no camera. Thanks for the assurance as to first year. As an aside, I traded a $300 rifle for it about eight months ago. Happy.

Mine is from 1966,one of the first three to come to my hometown, all bought by cops.
