Yes, would date to the late 20's.

No. That last character is probably a 6 or 8, or maybe a scratched 3. If so, the gun is from the late 1920s.

Oops! I read that "B" as an "8" which is probably what it is, anyway.

A number as high as 536684 until 1942 would be a valid 22/32 Heavy Frame Target as labeled at the time. Sometimes referred to as the "Bekeart" model based on the suggester of this model from the 1911 era when 1st introduced. Became the Model 35 after 1957.

Default Some serial numbers form 1926

The Heavy Frame Target serial numbers were in the same series as the Regulation Police models.


449574 - Regulation Police 32 S&W Long was shipped Sept 1926

459959 - Regulation Police 32 S&W Long # 459959 was shipped Dec. 1926.

459XXX - 22/32 Heavy Frame Target Shipped in Dec. 1926
