This is a 1946 - about - K-frame. I can't tell, from these pictures,
if the nickel finish is original, or has been replated. It seems a bit
bright for an original nickel finish, after 60+ years.
The gun is really a .38 M&P, and not a pre-model 10. Following the
run-out of the S- serial numbers, the gun was redesigned. After a few
years, the 5-screw configuration became a 4-screw configuration,
and then model numbers were designated. This gun is not the gun
that immediately preceeding model numbers.
If its original nickel, then its probably in the range of $500 - $600.
Refinished is a lot less.
