I've just obtainted a nice little (what appears to be a 1903 with a 3.25 inch barrel) that wears grips that are a dead ringer for what I have seen described here as Bekeart grips. The gun has a nickle finish that is original with a few spots. Really neat gun. Does anyone what diameter (cal. 32 Long) the bullets, if lead, need to be. I'm sure I'll end up slugging the barrel, either way. Thanks in advance for any info.
The "Bekeart" style grips are really just the S&W target grips , either checkerd walnut or hard rubber that will fit several models of the small/medium frame revolvers and single shots in S&Ws product line of the period. Ed.
.32 S&W/.32 S&W Long bullets run .311-.313" .308 bullets may work OK depending on your actual groove diameter. I have loaded .32 S&W with the half- jacketed "Plinker" .308 bullets, and they worked OK,
If your revolver is a .32, it is probably not a Bekaert, as I think those were all .22s (but on the .32 frame).
