Default New to me Pre-17

Here is my new to me pre-17 serial #137xx
Has a turn ring and some slight wear on either ends
of the barrel but other than that looks great to me.
Plan on shooting this sunday/tommorrrow.
My first K-22 and i'm a happy camper.

Just wanted to share with friends.

Thanks Fellas,
No it won't be my last. I love the looks of these .22 k-frames
and i'm always on the lookout for another. Trouble is around here
they are few and far between and when you find one they want an
arm or leg for it. I traded into this one and gave up a nice Smith
to get it. But it's all good.

Late '47, early '48. Very nice. I have K14784 (shipped January 1948), which is in almost as good shape.

At this time the heavy barrel variety had not yet been introduced, and all K-22 third models (the postwar Masterpiece) had the tapered barrel with narrow rib. I think the narrow-rib design looks better than the heavy rib and heavy barrel designs that came along a year or so later, so I am pre-programmed to like guns that look like this one.

Both thumbs way up. An excellent score. You will love it.

Yea, we love our Smiths here in Maine. They turn up when you least expect them to. Saw one today it was a pre 17 four screw, lots of rust and pitting painted front sights and Herrets fron the 70's. Would make someone a good shooter.

Nice addition to your collection, as is the Model 27-2 you posted. I have a 17 also, and I am sure you will enjoy shooting yours. They are tack drivers! Skip48

She's a nice find and will give you years of enjoyment. Those one liners are getting hard to find in the shape yours is in.

Wow! It looks like an early bright blue! Does it have the large B stamped on all the major parts?

Great photography of a great rimfire.
I've got one that's about where Davids serial number range is and it's barn burner accurate with standard velocity ammo.

That second picture of Drew's is one of my favorites on the forum!

I have a 1952 Vintage K-22 (same year as me !), it's a little worn, but has an excellent trigger pull, in both DA and SA. Enjoy that one , it probably won't be your last !
