Nice K-22 there. Looks like 1966 or so. There a lot of fun to shoot and nobody can have just one! Kyle

With that hammer and M&P barrel profile, I thought it should be quite a bit older myself.........But I'm no scholar here. When is her B-day 410?

Nice grab Kris. I thought when we talked the other day that I might have a set of grips for you,but when I checked the woodpile,no luck. Must have sold 'em.

Kris, you find some interesting guns. As long as the timing is OK, should be a good shooter. Watch e-bay, the grips come up quite often or put a want to buy here. Maybe someone will donate a set from this post. Larry

Fine gun, better price. With all the money you saved you can afford a nice set of prewar Magnas, which is what that gun probably wore when it left the factory in the late 1930s. (But the standard 1930s service stocks would be appropriate as well.)
I would agree it is probably a 1939 gun, but other specimens with nearby serial numbers are known to have shipped in late 1938.

My goodness what a sleeper! And you were the only bidder. What a great buy and a very nice classic gun. They aren't much fun to shoot though, they never miss!

Hey, 410bore
Are you looking for pre-war Magnas for that Outdoorsman?
Send me a private message and I'll see what can be worked out. I believe I may have a pair I can spare.

Great Gun at a Super Great price!! With the price that you paid, you should still have enough money to buy the stocks, the box, a prewar SAT, the brochure, etc...
Congrats,

Cool - I quoted him verbatim the reg's and sent him a link to the page and he never responded. Back slap to you for going the extra mile - head slap for me!

I understand. A real nice K-22 OD with a great box and SAT was on a different site two weeks ago. Went for just shy of $1900.

I never see any for under $595 here. The average price seems to be $695 to 895. I did see one sell for as high as $1,700. It seems we can't lose on the lower priced ones for sure. My first K22 came with the gold box and S&W knurled screwdriver too. I couldn't get out the plastic fast enough when the price tag said $595. It had some slight freckling on it but some simi-chrome polish took care of it. She looks like new now.

Received the gun today; it needs a good cleaning. But, The ejector rod is bent! Should be an easy fix but I need to find one first.....Anyone have one or know where I can find one?

You should be able to straighten it, Kris, unless it is totally warped. I think there is a tutorial on the forum about that. I've seen it somewhere and think it may be here.

Make sure the center pin is not bent, too. You can straighten both, as Guy suggests, but it may be easier in the long run just to replace both. Check out Dave Chicoine ( oldwestgunsmith.com) and Larry Poppert ( Poppert's Gun Parts Main Menu) for the pieces you need.
I fixed a Brazilian with a bent ejector system once, but I finally decided just to swap out the reshaped pieces for some that had never been bent in the first place.

Kris, I have you covered, just checked and I have three rods. Let me know if you want magnas or service stocks. I will be at the usual place in two weeks, hope to see you there.

Very nice Kris, Something about that pre war checkering its like a giant upturned smile !
I stumbled on another one the other day priced a bit higher than yours but its near perfect....
I am with you on the $500 cardboard, Surprised at those prices some enterprising young man hasnt started making affordable reproductions for the common folk, cant be too hard to make a box especially if you have the artwork scanned .

Love the "new" wood on it. Those pre-war K-frame magnas are some of my favorites. On the Stags, I would have my sanding blocks and hand files out to fit them a little more closely to the gun.
Very nice package!
