Family heirloom .32 long CTG-looking for info
I have a .32 long CTG that was my great grandfathers. I have not fired it yet because I want to get more information on it. I was hoping someone could help me with the age of this gun. It has matching serial numbers on the butt and on the barrel after you eject the chamber. But as far as I can see the butt serial number is missing the 3 that the barrel has. #350535 on barrel and #50535 on butt. Any information would be greatly appreciated.Trying to figure out how to upload pic from my phone.

The "3" on the barrel may not be a "3" , but a "B" if the gun is (was) blue. S&W stamped "B" on barrels before the serial number to signify to the assemblers/fitters that the gun would have a blue finis, not a plated finish. Ed.

Is this a smaller handgun, close to a J Frame (pocket gun), or is it a larger K Frame (belt holster size handgun)? Is it a 5 shot or a 6 shot. I'm with Ed, the "3" is probably a "B" indicating a blue finish stamped under thre barrel. If it is the smaller one it could be a .32 Hand Ejector, Model of 1903, 1st Change. Made from 1904 - 1906.
You would need to upload a picture from your phone to a hosting site like Photobucket, than attach from there. Or you could download to your home computer and attach directly from there. If so, use the "go advanced", and below the post there are instructions to attach a thumbnail picture. It needs to be large enough to be able to clearly see what it is, and several views.

Thank you I will try and upload a picture today. It is a 6 shot, measuring from the end of the barrel to the butt is about 8.5 inches. There is a diamond in front of the serial number on the barrel that looks to be a B in it. Again I am going to try and upload a picture with my computer.

There is also a patented stamp on the barrel that is Feb 6 06 Sept 14 09 Dec 29 14. (I don't know if this means anything or was stamped on all guns)

That "diamond" is the mark of the service dep't at S&W, meaning the barrel is probably a replacement. Check the left grip frame under the grips to see if a date code is stamped there. It would be probably 3 or 4 digits, with a decimal point between them, like "11.47" meaning the gun was serviced/repaired in Nov. 1947. You apparently have a .32 S&W Long caliber K frame , made about 1903-4 era, if it's 6 shot revolver. Are you sure it's not .32-20 WCF caliber? Are the sights fixed or adjustable? Ed.
