Default I stumbled across this nice little .32

I found this pre-model 30 a couple of days ago, on consignment in a shop I rarely get to stop at. No box or papers, 3.25" barrel, matching numbers on the stocks, barrel, frame, cylinder. I went back today and snapped a few photos for a forum member, who is currently working on buying it. Had I not just purchased two Shields, I would be on this thing like white on rice.

Very nice! If I were going to have just one S&W 32, that would do just about everything. The unidentified forum member buying it is hereby consigned to post more pix when he gets it home!

I believe it had only fired .32 S&W cartridges, as there was crud in the chambers about 1/4" below shoulder. I scrubbed on the chambers for over half an hour to get that stuff out.

There is also a presentation boxed blue 29-2 6.5" for $1,200.00 and a 19-3 blue 4" with three T's for $599.99, but I did not look those over.

Nice little 32 in a handy bbl length. What did the shop want for this gun, it's in nice shape. Thats nice that you're helping out a forum member to buy it. Larry

Where! Where!? Just kidding, my gun budget just got spent on a Colt Wiley Clapp Commander.

As I was building up my backlog of small frame guns and buying everything in sight, that one wouldn't have escaped my vacuum cleaner approach of sucking up everything I could find. Now that my gun lust has been slaked a little, I can painlessly admire that one and genuinely wish well for the deserving member that gets it and encourage him to enjoy it as I do mine. It really is a sort of template piece for what a little 32 J-frame ought to be. I just wish they had made more of them with adjustable sights... sort of a "32 kit gun." I guess that would have reduced the utilitarian image of the gun and raised its initial cost too much, but nonetheless... It's getting close to time for us to start another thread for showing what we've been doing with our little I- and J-frame 32s with current loading data, range reports, etc. Let's have a little virtual bull session around the virtual wood stove.

I love the little Improved I-frame .32 I traded into earlier this year - it's way ugly, compared to that little beauty you posted, though.

And the .32 S&W Long handloads remarkably well . . .

That is a nice one! I have a fondness for the little I frames. A 32 long loaded to a little over 900 fps with a 95 gr cast bullet is nothing to sneeze at. Now you might want to start looking around for one of the shorter barreled ones.

Or 100-grainers at c. 1070 fps!

Gotta love Sharpe's old data in a solid-frame gun . . .
