Default HELP identify model and year

I inherited this from my uncle and am trying to identify exactly what it is, every time I think I have it I don't find any similar. It Has 32 long ctg on right side, serial number on butt of gun is 274xxx, and a 4 inch barrel. Please help!

That is a .32 Hand Ejector, third model, from (probably) 1917. It might have shipped as late as 1919. It probably did not ship in 1918, as the company was tied up with WWI Army contract production almost exclusively at that time.

According to the Good Book, it is a .32 HE, 3rd Model, stated to have been produced from 1911(?) to 1942, in SN range of 263,000-536,684. I do not quite understand this, but the presumably earlier Model of 1903, 5th Change, ceased production at 263,000 in 1917, so I don't understand how the 3rd Model production started in 1911. Maybe 1911 is a misprint, and should have been 1917. In any event, 1917 seems to be a likely dating.
