Default pre-model 27 post war 8 3/8

I thought I would share a picture of a pre-model 27, 5 screw with an 8 3/8" barrel that I recently acquired. It has the "S" prefix serial number.

I had an 8 3/8" model 27-2 with the Patridge front sight, and I think this one has been shortened. The previous owner may have used it at long distances or used a load that ran the rear sight out of adjustment?
