I haven't posted for a while so hello to all once more. I recently acquired a .455 triple lock that has the cylinder machined down to accept the .45 colt. Serial is #3XXX which would make it one of the 6,000 guns purchased by the British for WWI use. I'm fairly certain of this because of the British proof marks and the Remington crossed flag stamp.
I believe it was somebody's resto project. It has brand new (incorrect) grips and a spare new, unmodified .455 cylinder. Thank goodness they didn't get around to a re-blue. The gun certainly looks as it has had use. Not abused but used.
I'd love to find a set of used grips and I would like to know how to change out the cylinders.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have also recently acquired a model 1896 .32 long HE, save that for later.
