Tyler T-Grips current status
How are they to do business with now? Returned to normal business? Quality of product? Waiting time?

I ordered one not too long ago. It arrived quicker than I thought it would, maybe around three weeks. I am satisfied with the quality. Have another one on order now. Good luck.

Going by the asking price of the current sellers, the adapters are being made from gold.

Sometimes they come quickly and sometimes they take forever. I think it depends on which variations they are producing at the specific time your order is placed. I also believe that the more popular ones get sent out quicker than the obscure ones do.
I just traded an N frame one for a #2 (for a Baby Chief's) because I figured if I ordered that one it would take forever for that model. Probably a very rarely ordered one these days.

I've ordered two at different times this past year. They both came in less than a month.

Thanks. I ordered a couple about 5 years ago and they came in about 3 weeks, IIRC, but I wanted to check because of all the bruhaha in the last couple of years.

Tyler received my order for two t-grips- J frame & K sq. butt- on 7/15/13. I received the grips 9/16/13, about 6 weeks. Don't expect order confirmations, ship notification or any type communication at all. We've all gotten used to these from other sellers but that's not Tyler's M.O. However, they are still in business and shipping a fine product in a reasonable time period.

Just thought I'd report. My k frame brushed T grip hasn't arrived yet. It's been a month today since I mailed my order form.

Just as an FYI, I was at the Nation's Gun Show (Dulles, VA) today and John Masen was there with a little basket of about a dozen NOS Tyler T-grips in the old style boxes. They were all #3R marked, but if anybody needs T-grips for a round butt K (if I read my sources correctly) He's got them in stock for reasonable.

Hi all,
I got my T-grip on 8/8/13. It was sent by first class mail on August 6th. The invoice date was 5/22/13 (less than a week after I sent my order in by mail).
That's eleven weeks or so. Given that my order went out shortly before the proprietor got hit by a tornado, that's not too bad. My invoice total was $30.75.
I bought it to go with some factory replacement grips ( these) for my Model 67-1.
Ironically, I ended up disappointed. Years ago, I got a T-grip for an older Detective Special I owned and thought it was the bee's knees. I had high hopes for them on a Smith. But, the factory grips and T-grip combo on my Model 67 shifted around way too much in double action fire. I lost of lot of points during a PPC match with those grips versus the same gun with Pachmayr professional grippers.
The factory grips with T-grip look great! They just don't shoot well for me.

Another status report: 2 months now and I haven't yet received my T grip. I know they got my order because my check cleared a week later.
I'm just waiting patiently.

Its nice how they can cash all the checks right away and go around spending all the money but can't send the product in a reasonable time frame. This is a sure fire way to run a business straight into the ground.

This is why I haven't ordered mine yet. I just keep hearing stories like this about their turn around time. Disappointing. I REALLY want one for my Detective Special knock off.

I'm about a week after you in the queue. I knew going in I was in for a long long wait but that someday I'd most likely get it. I decided to gamble and spun the roulette wheel to see what happens.
Course, I do live in Vegas.

Personally I am looking for grips for a Colt Detective Special clone. BK doesn't make those and when I asked said he did not intend to.
If I was looking for some for a Smith I would have long ago happily ordered some from him.
Random, but just this evening I discovered Numrich has some of the old Pachmayr grip adaptors for Colts. Not sure about other brands of revolvers but for $13 delivered I snatched one up quick.

BK's line is still somewhat limited. He does not carry certain configurations and still does not make them in a chrome finish. If someone wants what they want, Tyler is still the place to get it.

Okay, I said I'd update this thread when I received my order. Today was the day. So, from the very beginning of November to almost the end of February to receive a No. 2 polished aluminum T-Grip.
Thoughts? Well, it's a long time to wait, especially with no communication from the seller. On the other hand, they are honest in filling their orders and I wasn't in any particular hurry. And I knew I was probably in for a long wait when I placed the order so no surprise there. But most important, the grip looks great and fits perfectly. So yeah, I'd do it again. Probably will.

I ordered 2 N black matte grips in January and received in 5 weeks. They cashed the check 10 days before receipt. Seems like they were able to catch up with orders here in the last month or so. I'm happy!

Ordered a brushed stainless for J frame RB and a brushed stainless for K frame RB
check put in mailox at post office Oct 24th
Check showed cashed on Nov 1, same day the receipt says invoiced
called 4 times, not response (could only leave messages 2 times)
sent email on Tuesday afternoon, the 18th, then
rec'd my order today, February 24th 2014
I kind of feel like almost 4 months is a bit long, 5 weeks would've been nice. and I payed a bit over $8 for shipping, and I see they paid $2.28 for the shipping with the .25 cent envelope )

PlaytheAces, I saw your post while I was at work and wondered if mine had arrived today, and sure enough it had. Like yours, mine is brushed finish. Maybe they do all the orders for a given finish together, who knows?
I had mailed my order on 11/20.

Apparently they wait until they have a batch made up of a certain size. Ordered 2 (brushed and shiny) 3-R k-round butt ones first of Dec and arrived yesterday.

I just looked up when I sent the check - Nov. 7th. They cashed it a week later. I figured it'd take a while since a No. 2 in polished aluminum probably isn't a high demand item, and unless he just happened to have one in inventory, it would have to be made up. I'm guessing the more popular sizes and colors are more often in stock and ship faster. And I think these grips are pretty much hand made. They aren't falling off a high speed assembly line.
I'm happy with the quality and workmanship, so to me the time element is pretty much a moot point. As I've gotten older, I've lost some of the impatience of my youth.

Got my brushed aluminum #8 tgrips today for my Ruger stainless shorty speed six. Looks good but don't think grips are as nice as the old ones. They look ok though and I am satisfied. Time for delivery was about 2 1/2 months.

Having just come from the mailbox, let me jump in
On Feb.22nd, I ordered a Tyler T for my Model 15-1. The check was cashed on Feb. 26th; mailed Feb. 27th and arrived today.
A year ago I order two items from them and it took 4 months with no communication from them.
I think it depends on what they are producing and what their inventory is of the item you order. They are "legit", but it depends how your order hits their cycle. Glad to seem them back in business and fulfilling orders now.

I don't think he offers the brushed metal finish, which is what I wanted.
