Default Surprising Auction Results HEs

I had bookmarked several S&Ws on a recent California Auction, but forgot to attend. I went back and reviewed the items I was interested in and found some really low results. I found 4 top-breaks (see S&W Antiques) and 5 HEs that were of interest. Don’t know the reasons, but maybe the holiday season lowered the realized prices.

The following items were of particular interest to me:

Model 1896 went for $300
1st Model Ladysmith went for $475
22/32 Bekeart went for $325
Model 1905 Target went for $400
Model 1899 M&P went for $300

Probably a good thing I forgot the auction since it would have cost me too much money!

I agree that the Beakeart went very low. the 1905 had interesting, but not factory, target sights. The general rule of thumb seems to be that the only guns that go high are the ones that I am bidding on.

I wish I could have bought any of them for that price.

Ouch!

I would have LOVED to get the m1899.

I especially want one with the long Barrel for making Folded-Head/Balloon-Head Cartridge Back Powder Chronograph Tests, in order to see what the original Loadings really did, and to do so in the same Gun they would have been in.

Gary,

Even with auction commissions, those are great prices. Would have cost me a lot as well. The M frame Ladysmith has a replaced extractor knob but still a great price.

I had all those tagged as well and missed the auction. I also had the triple lock sold for 950 and the 38/44 sold for 650 I think. I would have bid on at least 3 of those guns but like I said, I missed the auction and not by my doings!

Are you allowed to say the name of the auction house? Is it a regular event?

Here is a link to the auction results, I believe that it is ok for info only as the auction is completed.
