Outdoorsman price check
Wanted to know what a 95-97% condition Outdoorsman first model without a box is worth these days?

Without a few detailed pictures of the gun and box it's hard to put a value on the gun, as percentage conditions are very subjective. Having the original numbered to the gun grips also increases the value. If you post a few pictures, if sure you'll get a few opinions as to how much the gun is worth.
Another good source to check on values is Gun broker "completed auctions". Make sure you look at guns that actually sold or have bids on them, not ones without any bids.

Thanks I don't have pictures but I have seen the gun in person. It is very nice and the gentlemen has talked about the possibility of selling. He was talking about $900.00 which I think might be a little on the high side.

if its truly 95-97% I think that's close on value, maybe a little low. does it have service stocks or magnas? Like Rick said, if the stocks are original #'s matching that matters

$900.00 might be a steal.
If the box is in half way good condition, it would be worth half that price.
Are you looking at a 38/44 Outdoorsman, or a K22 Outdoorsman?

Rick I don't think the box is included.

I conservatively rate this gun at 94%. The stocks match but for some curious reason, they have hole through the bottom.
I would put the value of this revolver and box at something more than $1500.

That looks like the one I'm looking at just that I'm looking at a K22 Outdoorsman. Condition looks close to the same based on what I can tell from the pictures.

I'm guessing that $900 is a steal. Around here, they seem to be asking nearly $1500 and even if they get talked down a bit, I still bet its close. At $900, I'd just buy it out of spite.

I found one earlier this year in a pawn shop that is about 90%, but had some small pits and non-standard grips (they were 1950's diamond targets). The manager had it labeled correctly as a K-22 Outdoorsman from the 1930's, but had it priced as a post war gun. I paid $780 OTD and the same day I was told it was worth north of $1000 by someone who knows old S&W's and is very conservative in his appraisals.

A lot depends on your location. An Outdoorsman in the high 90s percentile with the original box around here would be in the $1500 to $1700 range.
