Default Victory Info

I recently acquired SN#V130161.
Numbers match on Butt, Barrel, and Cylinder.
Can you tell me anything about it?
It has been Nickled or Hard Chromed.
The swivel in intact and there is an ordnance bomb on the front of the butt.
The barrel is 4" /pinned and does not appear to have been cut.
The cylinder will not accept 38 Special rounds can't the barrel is stamped 38 S&W.
For some reason I can not get the pictures to upload except for this one.
I can email them if I had you email address.

First, plating is not a good sign. Have the chambers been reamed from .38 S&W to accept .38 Special ammunition? Many were. What is the barrel length? Many were shortened. Any or all of those modifications are truly bad news for value. Please provide pictures and more information about the previous comments plus all stampings anywhere on the revolver.

It originally left the factory around late 1942.

Welcome to the Forum, As DWalt said, you gun has apparently been refinished. Post a picture if possible. What is the barrel length, 4 in or 5 in.? What is the present caliber and has it been converted from the original caliber? Ed.

Are you measuring the barrel length from the front face of the cylinder to the muzzle? It's strange that a .38/200 would have a 4" barrel. With few exceptions, the British .38/200 Victories chambered in .38 S&W had (nominal) 5" barrels, while those for use by US forces chambered in .38 Special had 4" barrels (again, with a few exceptions). If the chambers have not been reamed for .38 Special, that's better.

My apologies DWalt.......
I was trying to multi task and wasted your time on the last thread not proof reading my work.
The barrel is marked S&W 38Special and the cylinder does accept 38 Special cartridges.
I did re-measure from the cylinder to the end of the barrel - 4".
Again sorry for the last mix-up.
