REG MAG #379 Home Sweet Home In WI ** PIC HEAVY**
I have been searching and searching and Saving and Saving for a 3.5 RM…Finally She has arrived..I want to SAY a HUGE Thank you to the SWCA member that let her come and Live with me on a permanent Basis, A Huge Thank you to Nate, Alex, Haris, Sal, Dan, and anyone else that helped me with Info and Encouragement in acquiring her…If I forgot anyone I apologize…
She Shipped on Aug 27th, 1935 with a 6.5 inch Barrel to the original Owner…She switched hands in 1938 and the New Owner requested a New Certificate, a 3.5 Inch Barrel, King Ramp, Baughman Front Sight, and A RUSH Delivery as he had a NEED for this revolver…(Kind of Interesting to read the History, he must have had a few threats). All this work took place by the Factory in 1940…Pretty Neat…
I really wanted a true 3.5 inch RM, but the documented history of this one really changed my mind and the fact it all happened Pre War was the deciding factor to bring her Home to WI…
Please Enjoy The Pics….

The only thing that can make a great gun better is great history, and you got that too! Awesome find.

I Only have 2 left Greg...Then I can start a new Direction...
27-1 3.5" (Drew has one and Wont Give her up)
Non Reg Mag 3.5"
I might have to sell a Pre 27 3.5 to help fund the above, but they are my kids so its tough to part with one...

Nope it's Hunters and I'd be betraying someone who thought enough of that holster to send it to me.
Now back to your gun that thing is fabulous.
If I make it to WI remind me to slap you aside of the head for hesitating

Jim,
My hearty congratulations and a push of the "Like" button.
When I opened the thread I first noticed you had changed your avatar photo. Upon reading the thread the reason became obvious.
Great find!

Very sweet and a very compelling reason for all members to join and support the SWHF. If WE don't save these records, no one else will.

Congratulations Jim!
It's quite a feeling when you finally get your 1st RM. So how many times have you taken her out of the safe just to fondle her? - It's OK, I was told it's completely normal
BTW - your pictures with your new light box are outstanding, but I do miss your granite counter top
It's very similar to the pattern I have!
PM - incoming

Congratulations, Jim! It's a beautiful gun. One day, I hope to have a RM of my own.
How about posting a picture of her with the elk horn stocks (I believe)? It's too bad they didn't install the HBH.

Great looking registered magnum with a lot of history. The original owner may have been involved in some coal mine labor disputes at that time.
Congrats on the purchase!

I thought the same thing about the humpback hammer, but Jim Fisher explained it has a transitional magnum hammer on a return trip to the factory in 47. He said this hammer is quite rare and there were probably less than 15 made other than the 142 that shipped with there respective transitional magnums.
I think that is neat as heck.

Excellent gun and related provenance. All of that information opens up many additional avenues of research to pursue it's history further.

Fantastic RM with history to match!! Love the hammer. The SWHF was a jackpot for you and a real treasure trove of (usually lost) information. Did you ever try to find out any more information on the previous owners? That is a definite keeper!!!

So, they did the barrel swap (love the $16.50 charge) but what happened to the replacement hammer?
