Default A couple of Combat Masterpieces

Received these yesterday from one of the members. Even though I'm a big fan of the I frames and N frame, the K frames seem to be "just right"! One is a Pre 15 that letters as shipping to Evaluators Limited for delivery to Gen. George Van Orden, shipping date 8/14/50. Roy said it is one of the very early 4". Box is numbered to gun. The second is a Pre 18 with a serial of 115031 which should put it around 1951. No letter on this one. This box is also numbered to the gun. They both have a light turn line so they will probably go to the range a little. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

That box with the pre 18 is CLEAN! That's a great pair. I would like to get a matching gold box pre 15 to go with my pre 18.

Thumbs up

Jeff:

Great guns and beautiful photos. The stocks on that K-38 have some especially nice grain.

Thanks a ton for sharing,

Those are both wonderful. I've got K22 CM 136153 right down the road from you. It's in great shape but not like those--it's perfectly worn in for some carry.

It's also the best shooter I've got. Just a laser beam. Give us a range report if you ever find any ammo...

Looks like David Carroll came through again! Nice revolver with ties to Evaluators, Ltd. and Gen. Van Orden himself. That is a good show!

All I can say is, "Wow!" My own pre-15 Combat Masterpiece ran upstairs crying, and now refuses to come out of it's room.

Out of 353 views so far on this thread, I believe at least half are mine, I just keep coming back to it. Two mighty fine Combat Masterpieces you have jsfricks. Both of my CM's are jealous.

From Jeff to Jeff,

That is a beautiful pair of new acquisitions! WOW! And with boxes too, can't beat that.

My grail gun in a S&W revolver is a 1954 date Combat Masterpiece that looks like one of these. I don't need a box, but it sure does add to the package!

Thanks for sharing.
