My First King Super Target
I have been learning & collecting S&W revolvers for about a year and half now, and my interest have gravaited to Pre War Target models. So when I found this well used, but not abused King Super Target I had to have it  The gun shipped January 1937, all the #'s match even the original stocks. Kris (410bore) graciously sold me this set of Beautiful Sanderson stocks to complete her.
I know some think that Kings alterations hurt the value & desire ability of a gun, but I personally think it makes them more desirable. I love the craftsmanship of his work.
Thanks for looking & letting me show off my new revolver!

You're lucky I'm broke  I was scrambling to come up with the money to buy that gun. I think you did A-OK on the price there. You are going to really enjoy it. I have one nearly the same as it and it is great to shoot.
Out of curiosity, does it look like King re-cut the checking on the hammer? Mine seems to have a particularly aggressive pattern that doesn't seem to be standard.

Begal -what int he world makes you think the king sight devalues the gun? As a general rule king targets add 15% minimum increase from my research... Beautiful gun and congrats...

I really love the King Conversion guns! My eyes might be playing a trick on me, but I think that this is the first time I have seen this combination. To me, it looks like King's Super-Police Night Sights on a King Super Target Rib, instead of the usual set-up. You have a awesome gun!!
I am sure the more knowledgeable folks will correct me.

I think it could hurt the value of a triple lock factory target, or a 1926 3rd model factory target. But on a m&p the value should go up. Nice score. I'm a fan of the King conversions.

I always thought the king upgrades would hurt the value but it's still a part of the history of what accessories were available at that time too. I think there is a nitch there that no collector realizes yet. I kick myself now I passed on two king upgraded revolvers a colt and a s&w both in 38 special. The king upgrades are part of the history for that time.
Thanks for showing the king target grips. The last H&R 22 cal revolver I just purchased has the exact same king target grips on it.

I have been lucky enough to find one of each in 38 special. I really like taking them both to the range on the same trip. It takes me awhile to get used to them operating in opposite ways.

I have posted this before, but thought I'd chime in. Pre War Colt OMT HB King Super Target in .32. King Sights, Rib, Hammer, Trigger Shoe, and fitted with Ropers. I like it--even if it's Brand X.

Beautiful gun! Gunsmith work, if done professionally, doesn’t lower the value of an old gun for me. And the longer I collect the more I appreciate well done modified guns over bone stock ones.

What would you do if you had a .38/44 Super Target, with Ropers, a Smith & Wesson cockeyed hammer and was a Massachusetts State Police Christmas Gift gun. All confirmed in a factory letter?
