Victory Model Date of Manufacture
My dad passed on in March, I now have a Victory model hand ejector that I would like the month-year and any origin information on that you could provide. The details are as follows:
1. Hand Ejector
2. 7527xx
3. 38 S&W Special CTG
4. 4" barrel
5. Fixed Sights
Strain Screw in front gripstrap
Swivel Lanyard Loop
5 screw model
S&W Walnut checkered grips
Stamped on backstrap - "U.S.N.C.P.C."
Stamped on barrel - "Smith & Wesson
I belive this revolver was assigned to the security of Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point Plant in Baltimore, MD.
I believe that it was sold into the civilian world between 1960 and 1962.
Thanks.

CPC victories are somewhat scarce and have an interesting history... you should get some detailed responses.
You may want to state that there is no V preceding the serial number.
Welcome to the S&W forum.

Welcome, and sorry for your loss. If you click on Search at the top of the home page, then type USNCPC in the Search Site/Google text box there are several posts about this one. As brigham33 noted it is a scarce and sought-after variation of the pre-Victory Models from just before the US entered into WW II. Hope this is helpful.

Pre-Victories, allegedly, which went to USNCPC were in the SN range of 748xxx-760xxx and were shipped during the period of Feb and March 1941. Here is an auction for one which provides some details about the USNCPC. http://www.gunauction.com/buy/9808737

Very nice acquisition - especially since it belonged to your father!
And I am sorry for your loss. My WWII vet father passed on almost three years ago, so I know what it is like. I miss him every day.
