Nickel Model 10 no dash
New to the S&W forum and just picked up a nice model 10 no dash 4 screw. It was $399 otd. Was this a fair price? I was also curious of year of manufacture. Serial number is C504xxx

Welcome to the best gun forum I've found. I hope you'll stick around .
I'm no expert, and not a collector, but I'd call that a good deal.

C504xxx would probably have shipped sometime in 1960. Not a bad price (for today) if the nickel plating is factory original. There should be a "N" stamped somewhere on the rear of the cylinder or possibly on the grip frame under the stocks. Are those stocks real staghorn or plastic?

WELCOME TO THE FORUM. THAT'S A NICE LOOKING REVOLVER. IMHO, THAT PRICE SEEMS REASONABLE FOR A NO-DASH, IF THE NICKEL IS ORIGINAL……..

It has the "N" on the end of the cylinder underneath the extractor. The grips are real staghorn. That's what really caught my eye besides I've always a nickle revolver.

Staghorn grips will add a lot of value. You definitely got a good deal. The "N" stamp confirms it left the factory nickeled.
