K or N Target Grips?
Had a pair of relieved target grips kicking around and decided to check them out. I thought they were N frame sized so I put them on my M28-2 HP. They fit well except for not covering the very top of the grip backstrap. I then put them on my (roughly) 1956 Combat Masterpiece and they fit much better. Interestingly, the grips fit my N-frame almost perfectly (inside around the grip frame) but had a noticeable gap (about 1/16") all along my K-frame grip. Is this normal?

I have been misled more than once about K vs. N target grips. Best way for me to tell is to try them on the revolver. K-frame target grips are usually a tight fit on an N-frame, if they fit at all.

That would be one of the worst fitting N frame stocks ever. I'm going with K. A picture of the inside would tell the story for sure.

You found the answer when you put them on your CM, they are K frame and yes that is the way they fit on a N frame ...bad.
