Combat Masterpiece . . . 1953
Struck a deal with member Lonegle57. Good man to deal with. Fine shooting revolver. Took it out late yesterday after the temp dropped below 95. Sweated a heap anyhow. Was not disappointed. Shoots like . . . . . Well, like an early 50s S&W.
Here 'tis with a Lobo carved Threepersons holster and at-grip I happened to have lying around.

Nice Gun and rig...
BTW do the grips number ?
Those medallions have the greyish appearance of steel which was used in that era....do they stick to a magnet ?

Well....., that does it..... As the Model 15 is my favorite Smith and Wesson revolver, I am going to have to find a early post war, pre-57 Combat Masterpiece! Had one once a long time ago but sold it. Going to have to find another!
What a terrific combination! Thanks for sharing this purchase you made!

3482jl,
Well, it could be that we may compete!!! I am going to be selective this time because when I bought my first one, the one that I somewhat stupidly sold, the prices were, shall we say, easier on the bank account!
I think that I will look for one in a box with papers, tools...The works!!
Hope you find your special one also!
The Model 15 is my favorite because it was the first gun that I had that was mine in and of itself. Although, it actually belonged to my employer; The County Of Los Angeles Sheriff's Department! Have acquired several since. Would love to find my original issue 3K55489!
This photo of the poster's Combat Masterpiece is beautiful. Good luck in your quest!

Red
Am glad the pre 15 went to a good home and nice to know someone appreciates it. Keep an eye out for N frames and am thinking the pre 14 with the 5 inch barrel is going to stay home for the time being, has grown on me in the past few days, may even get it lettered. thanks again for an easy deal
