Do Hogue monogrips mar the guns finish?
I want to buy a set for a K-22 but the clip seems funky to me. Looks like it would mar the butt of the handle. What is your experience?

I have never seen that from a Hogue grip. i have had several guns with them. Others may have different experiences with them.

The grip itself doesn't mar the frame, but I have seen several guns where the part of the U-shaped clip into which the screw threads contacted the bottom of the grip frame and left a scrape, usually right in the middle of the SN. Nothing major, especially on a stainless gun.

The clip will only mar the butt in my opinion if the grip is shoved on aggressively w/o the clip hanging straight down during installation. The clip will be jack knifed against the butt. Therefore marring is relative to the lack of conscientiousness with which the grip is installed.

I've never had a problem with that, but I think some fear that moisture may be trapped under the rubber grip and cause rusting.
