Hard to see serials on a Triplelock
Here's a way to get two in one picture:

The only HE model with 7 and 10 serial # stamping locations, depending on whether it's a fixed sight or target model.
B for originally a blue gun when produced.

Not by me.... I just thought it was neat to be able to get 2 of the 3 hard ones in one picture. (The back of the extractor is the third one.)
I posted pictures of all seven locations in the Lounge under the heading "Endoscope".
(Wish I had a target for the other three. )
Anybody here have an opinion about the serial on the stocks be on the left instead of the right panel??

Not many things about S&W are always consistent, however, serial number on right stock only has never varied in my years of experience and observation.
The only variance I've ever seen were penciled on the back of both sides. However, it was on stocks from the "stamped" number protocol vintage (post 1930). The digits were much too neatly written and too large compared to authentic factory penciling. Therefore IMO they were non-factory markings. But not necessarily fraudulent, someone just may have numbered their replacement stocks to their gun for any number of reasons.
