Pre 12 value
Hi, Where can I find out a fair market value for my pre 12? I've looked on the usual sights, but come up empty.

Just kidding about the frame crack...however, these are prone to this, on the thin part of the frame where the barrel threads in, due to too much torque on installation or firing heavy loads.
It's an early one (1953) and in much nicer than average condition for its era. The anodizing on these was not very durable, and any handling tends to show.
I'd guess $650-750; you are correct that not many in this condition are seen or sold. Hope this is helpful.

Are you sure 1953? I read the first part of 1956? Aint splittin hairs, dont make no difference. Down here in that shape a little high at $650-$700.
I would stop and look, especially at the little lock screw on the top side plate screw.

That is a plus for value, many were replaced with the steel version. No firing with the alloy cylinder per factory recommendations.

This one would likely have shipped in early 1954. I personally have no interest in owning a Model 12, as I have seen too many with the cracked frame below the barrel. Therefore, the value to me would be essentially zip, at least as a shooter. If I had a M12, I would use nothing but the lightest reloads in it.
