New Shoes for Old K-38
Just got a pair of Herret Target grips from forum member. Put
them on gun tonight. They really feel good. Can't wait to try
them out on some bulls eye shooting. Never had a pair that
felt good to me on a revolver, until I got these.

I like those, I have a pair on my Colt Officers Model .22. They are surprisingly comfortable.

Did the same thing last year on my dash three. A bit snug for me but your grip sure stays put!

Really nice looking set of stocks. You don't hear much about bullseye shooting in my area anymore. A shame because the skill needed to be a competeter in that arena is huge

I have a set similar to that for N frame. Had them on my 6", 28 no dash. Never cared for the looks that much, but they felt good! Bob

I've got a set for my pre-War 22 HFT, but they don't scale down well for fitting my hand. They sure look nice, though.

I have a set mounted on my k22 masterpiece. Properly fitted, they are like an extension of your arm. You can almost forget you have a gun in your hand, almost !!!

I've got a similar set, just be careful though when ejecting brass. They feel great in the hands, in fact I would say they are THE most comfortable revolver grips I've ever held, but the design is somewhat flawed. When you eject brass the cases will usually get stuck around that thumb grip area and scuff up the wood. I think that's why they are discontinued.

Unfortunately, Bullseye shooting has had its day, largely displaced from its former position as the leading competitive handgun shooting sport by the newer "combat"-style tactical shooting events. There are some diehards who still do Bullseye shooting.

... and those that are still shooting conventional Bullseye are very seldom using revolvers in any caliber. The first to go away were the 22s with the post-War K-22 coming almost too late to get a good chance against the High Standards, Rugers and Colt Woodsmen. The Government Model was the basis for the 45 class and even the K-38 and K-32 eventually lost out to the 45 "wad guns" and 38 semi-autos. Yep, the day of the Bullseye Revolver is pretty much gone... more's the pity!

And today in BE look how few even use iron sights. It's all optics now too.
