Default Grip ID and mfg. time frame..Correct photos (My bad)

I was given a pair of black grips, not sure of material I am sure from the age it is not "plastic". These grips are perfect, as in display quality. The right grip has a number stamped inside, #25852. Here are some photographs, I put them on a 1948 K-22 they fit tight across the top the radius and the flats on both sides match. The pin in the frame fits the pin holes.

Any help would be great.

It would appear to be a round butt K Frame "hard rubber" grip. They were made for a very long period of time and were in place on numerous different models.

This is a picture of a1st Model M&P, Model of 1899 showing the same stocks. I believe it was still in use on some models up to WWII time frame.

Yes. In fact, some postwar .38 M&P round butt guns with 2" barrels shipped with this type of stocks.

They are made of hard black rubber, not plastic, as OregonRandy suggested.

Is the interior molding rib pattern correct for pre-war RB grips? It looks almost exactly the same as the interiors of Colt's "Coltwood" plastic grips.

Those are after-market replacement stocks, not S&W manufacture unless someone knows more than I do. All the hard rubber stocks used by S&W were solid, the material requires this for strength. Your stocks are some form of plastic, possibly "Bakelite". I wish I knew who made them as I have never seen any stocks like these!

The OP has posted 2 different sets of stocks. The first set is not S&W. The second set is original factory hard rubber stocks. that serial number would put those stocks on a Model 1902. These stocks were offered from the late 1890s to (I think ) around WWII on some models.

My bad! The photo of the back of the grips was a photo of a pair of Colt Cobra grips that I thought I had deleted after they sold, sorry to confuse the issue.

I added two more "correct" photos to my original post. I messed up so bad I though it was a photo of the front on the S & W grips not the back of the Colt parts. ooops!

Thanks, Now that I can see the back of the right stock, I wonder if there is a number in front of the "2"? It looks like there is something there, but maybe a stray scrape. Take a magnifying glass to be sure.

While those are in nice condition, they are nowhere near new. There are scratches and scrapes on the bottom of the one close-up you show, plus the edges of the diamond are worn, without the sharp edges like new stocks would be. The rear section of the checkering on the left stock appears to be slightly flattened. Remember that these stocks are very hard and durable so wear slowly. Those are still nice stocks and would sell quickly on sites like ebay.
