Cylinder rotation
Have a piece that the cylinder does not spin freely when the cylinder is open(ejecting brass) Closed operation appears to work well. smooth and crisp. Trigger, hammer, cylinder roll.
Any clues to why the cylinder does not spin freely when the cylinder in out of the frame? Bent axle on the crane?

Welcome to the forum.
That is strange. Normally rotation is affected more when the cylinder is closed as opposed to open. Many times the extractor rod has backed off a turn and the cylinder can appear tight when closed. Not sure why it would work OK when closed but be an issue when open.
Hopefully someone will come along shortly with a better answer.

The yoke tube could just be dirty. They get gummed up from oil collecting powder residue. Try spraying it out with brake cleaner, then 1 drop of gun oil.

Beat me to it. This is what I suspect. My lcr did it after a high round pistol course. Brake cleaner. Then lube. Problem solved.

Either the Yoke / Cylinder assembly is in need of a good cleaning and lube, or the Cylinder Retention Stud is rubbing against the rear of the Cylinder when opened.
