Default Model of 1902 grip question

EDIT -- Title corrected , Thanks Hondo.

I own a S&W model of 1902 , round butt. It came with replacement grips , magna style. I have been
looking for period correct grips ; of course , the options are limited. I have considered a new set of period style grips which were made for the Heritage series repro model of 1905. Would they fit? I tried a K frame round butt Tyler grip adaptor a while back ; it did not quite fit the contour of the grip frame. This made me wonder if there were any changes between the 1902 and the 1905. Any input would be appreciated.

Also , any suggestions as to where/how I might acquire a period appropriate set of grips without having to refinance the house would also be appreciated. And - were all of the original grips of the 1902 hard rubber , or were there also checkered wood round butt grips?

These are my questions , thank you. 'Ski
