Judging from the phosphated finish, you are probably correct - a later refinish. Maybe or maybe not for WWII re-issue. The grips on it are of the design used only during early WWI production, and are quite unusual. Are they serial numbered on the back side? But the SN indicates fairly late 1918 production.
