Default Victory model date?

Hello everyone,

Longtime lurker here and I had just received a hand eject S&W sn# v296xxx.

It's was my uncles and I was wanted to see if I could find out more about it.

I am trying to remove some of the surface rust also as it appears to be just surface so far. It's is a blued pistol with the walnut grips with the same sn# of the right side grip. I followed the instructions in a thread on here to do all the checking I could. It does not have any ordnance markings of anything Lille shown on the other site that covers the Id locations and what to look for,.

I will post pics up here in a few once I get home form picking it up.

Thank you in advance everyone.

Mike
