Year ID on .38 S&W Hand Ejector
Hi,
Trying to nail down a more precise age on my pistol,. It has no model number on the yoke. It's a hand ejector with a 6.5" barrel and pre-war adjustable rear sight. But serial number 40311. Picture link http://smith-wessonforum.com/attachm...1&d=1501036138

Welcome to the Forum.
You have a .38/44 Outdoorsman, built in the 1930s. Others will be along soon to narrow down the date.

SN 40311 would be in the 1932 manufacturing range. An accurate shipment date would require a letter, but I list SN 402xx as shipping in 10/33.
