Any information about this revolver?
Hello. First of all I want to apologize for my english (not my native lenguage and Iīm a little bit out of practice).
I want to ask you about this revolver that I have.
Itīs a S&W .32 LONG, serial number 14.843. The barrel length is 4.2 inches and has fixed sights. It also has strain screw and 4 screws in the side plate but none on the trigger guard.
What do I have?
Thanks in advance for your time and replies.

Welcome! You have a .32 Hand Ejector model of 1903 "2nd model", likely made in 1904. The stocks are a later type (1920 decade) or may not be factory. It should have the fifth screw at the forward base of the trigger guard. Hope this is helpful and no worries about your English skills .

To add, your second set of photos does not show the fifth screw. A mystery to me but someone else will be along with an explanation.

It's a model 1902 from 1904 before the introduction of the rebound slide. Some folks count six screws on this gun because they count the strain screw. So this would be a five screw gun and in 1905 would become a six screw gun when the rebound slide is added and the trigger return spring is removed.

The original grips would probably have been black hard rubber. I suspect those on it are not factory grips. 1904 is about right. Both .32 S&W and .32 S&W Long ammunition can be used. I say that only because it is sometimes easier to find .32 S&W than .32 S&W Long.

Thank you all...
The grips doesnīt look originals.
This revolver belonged to my grandfather who was the chief police in my city in the early 40s. Maybe he made them at the policeīs gunsmith workshop (I donīt know).
The matter is the number of screws...

The number of screws are correct for your gun.
