K22, K1737XX so I think 1952 ship date
Here's a link to the closed auction if you want to see pictures. Actually looks better in hand than in the pictures. That seller took GOOD, detailed pictures. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/77736...odal-view-item
It's obviously a reblue but whoever did the work left the CC on the hammer and trigger bright. Bore is clean and lock-up is very tight. Trigger smoothed up nicely after cleaning the gunk from it's innards and a light lube. I have a very nice birth year/month K22 I bought a few years ago which was one of my "grail" guns. What I was looking for here was a K22 to use as a range and field gun and I think that is what I found. I'll not worry if this gets some holster wear as it has no collector value. Would any one else have taken the bait at $435 delivered and transferred?

All I can say is......try to buy another revolver of that quality for $435 today. I doubt you can find one.

In that pitted and reblued condition I sure wouldn't have gone any higher than that. Clearly a shooter only, but you already know that. It will probably do well for your purposes. K1737xx indicates probable shipment around early-mid 1953.

I have K155xxx shipped 10/52 and K159xxx shipped 12/52 so I suspect K173xxx would be 1953 at the earliest.

A shooter grade K-22 for less than $500? It cost me almost that to buy mine (a 1948 vintage with "well loved" finish) about 6-8 years ago. A lot of my most pleasant shooting these days is with this very gun, and now that the supply of 22 rf ammo is stable and affordable again, I can do so guilt free and as often as my schedule will permit. IMHO, you made a great purchase and are to be commended for it. Enjoy!
