Show your Model of 1950's ! (And Mod. 1955!)
The two recent Model of1950/Model of 1955 threads prompted me to post mine. Post yours too! Probably my favorite N's
Model 1950 Pre model 26's: One in 45 acp, one in 45 LC (lettered)
Mod 1950 "Military"/Mod 22 (double marked) and Pre Mod 24 (For some reason, 44 specials weren't marked Model 1950:
all 4 together (I clearly have a ways to go doing glamour shots )

1950 45 Target, S85710, shipped to Pete Kuhlhoff of Argosy Magazine on Advertising Cost of Sales Account on November 23, 1951. This revolver has a target hammer and the first set of oversize stocks made for an N-frame revolver. It was shipped in a relabeled box originally made for an original ".357" Magnum with an 8 3/4-inch barrel. Click on each photo for a better look.

OK, I'll play along:
My Model of 1950 Army (Pre 22)
Model of 1955, 45 DA target
...and a couple more 45acp shooters (I think the pre 26 is in the pack.)

This is a pre Model 27 I just purchased. Dates to 1951. Stocks have matching numbers. Serial number is S 815xx. Can’t wait to pick it up.

quinn,
In your picture # 2, is that a heavy barrel? Is it stamped Model of 1950 or Model of 1955? Some 1955s were mis-stamped 1950.

I forgot that my 5 screw 44 magnum counts as a Model of 1955. Thanks to Bill (Doc44) for his help with this acquisition . Complete with original box and tools (except the brush). Letters as one of the first 150 shipped. Invoice says it was a sample. This has the smoothest action of any gun I've ever shot.

Only got one.
44 special "Pre-24" that has had the barrel shortened to 4-1/2"
The Cokes are long gone. Need to take a couple of pics with the current stocks that are on it.

Good eye, I think I got the pictures reversed when I was pulling them up. I corrected my post. Thanks

If I had any photography skills the photos would show it, but my .44 special and Military are "bright" and the pre 26's are "brushed".
That's a nice piece LEO!

The 1950 44 Target in the center letters with rosewood target stocks, red ramp, white outline, and bright blue finish. The TH and TT were added later. Click on the photo for a closer look.

Mine from 1951 with original numbered box, and a brand new spare barrel and cylinder ordered with the gun by the original owner.
His son told me his dad bought the extra barrel and cylinder because he thought he'd shoot it so much he'd shoot them out. But an early death stopped that from happening.

Here's my .45 cal of 1950. It lettered with the targets, but didn't tell bright or dull blue. I'd say bright. The second picture is with my 27-2 and 610. The finish looks the same on both.
