It seems that I asked this quite some time ago, but I can't remember what the answer was (likely none) but since that post is long gone, I'll ask again to a slightly different crowd.

I *thought* I heard mention of a someone on the west coast making reproduction firearm boxes. (S&W, Colt, etc.) I know that there are firms that do make reproduction catalogs and instruction manuals, but not boxes. Just wanted to know if this is being done as yet?

A few reproductions of the antique S&W gutta percha boxes (about a dozen) for the Model One were made a few years ago in the Sountern Calif. area. Are you asking about them or a cardboard type box?

Andy, do not do like I did years ago and shun eBay because of its anti-gun stance. Since I began shopping eBay, I have gotten some great acceessories, boxes, literature and the like over the years.

I have a bunch of early Smith boxes up now on eBay from an estate I am handling. If you refuse to shop eBay, you will never know if some of them might be of interest to you.

For those of you that watch eBay S&W boxes, JudgeColt uses that handle for his postings, and he has just sold some very rare boxes on eBay at world record prices! Way to go, JudgeColt! Congrats! I just doubled the askings on my stash on S&W boxes!

wish I could ,but I just keep selling them for 'regulars' at the local gunshows....

as for the "repos", there have been Colt "repo" around for some time now, a few years back one of the locals had them made up in Nevada or some such place that used to make the Great Western boxes, looked just like the wood grained boxes of the 60's (he past away some time ago...) and now for the past few years, those black boxes have been made for another guy over on the west side and they come out of the box company on the east coast, that "used" to make first and early second generation Colt boxes.............this we were told direct from the guys who had them made, and ONLY the black ones have appeared on e-bay on a regular basis and are NOT represented as "original" but as "repos", with "reprinted" (badly, I might add..) labels....I even tried to sell a couple at the local gunshows, but "no go", did NOT sell well at all, told him "thanks ,but no thanks..."
have NOT ever seen ANY S&W or Ruger boxes, yet, in any form of "reproduction" just mainly "re-labeled", or re numbered..............caveat emptor baby........
