I have a 1948 22 Masterpiece and it has , what appears to be dark rosewood diamond grips? Were these grips an option or ? Maybe they are just good looking walnut but wanted to float the question?

The stocks should be numbered to the revolver on the right stock panel (just to ensure they are original to the revolver). I have seen checkered Magna stocks made of rosewood, but very, very few.
